He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Barnes and Roxie Hagan Barnes; his wife Charlotte Lyons Barnes; his daughter Cynthia Robin Dillard; and his brothers, Ellis, Harold and Edward Barnes.
He is survived by: his children, Jeffrey Allen Barnes (Ginger) of Elizabethtown and Miranda Thompson (Greg) of Elizabethtown; his siblings, Raymond Barnes (Linda) of Buffalo, Pauline Bottoms of Elizabethtown and Doris Davis of Florida; and his grandchildren, Jessica Nalley, Zilania Perry, Brandon Peters (Jenni), Jaqueline Peters (Alex) and Ryan Dillard. He is also survived by six great grandchildren.
