She was predeceased by: her parents, Luther Dean and May Marie Dean; her husband Rev. George Mitchell, Sr.; her children, Pamela Brown and Kenneth Mitchell of Louisville, KY; her siblings, Morris Dean, Murray Dean, Franklin Dean, Reba Woods, Mildred Dean, Laura Burns and Pearl Everett; and her grandson George "Geo" Mitchell, III.

She is survived by: her sister Virginia Ann McWilliams (Norwood) of Jeffersonville, IN. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren.
