He was predeceased by: his parents, Phoebe Ellen Skaggs Hamilton and Brady Hamilton; his brothers, Garland Hamilton (Lola Hamilton), Carl Hamilton (Delcie Hamilton) and Alderson "Whis" Hamilton (Charlotte Hamilton); and his son-in-law Bobby Johnson, Jr..
He is survived by: his wife Amanda Jane Brown Hamilton; his children, Rodney Franklin Hamilton (Jessica Ann) and Deanna Jane Hamilton Johnson; his grandchildren, Johnathan Brady Hamilton (Cara Newberry Hamilton), Bailie Hamilton Ramsey (Korey Ramsey), Jacob Johnson, Gwyneth Pack and Harrison Hamilton; and his great grandchildren, Addison, Peyton, Madelyn Ramsey and Brody Hamilton.
