He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence, Jr. McKinney and Helen McKinney (Taylor); and his daughter Jody McKinney. He is survived by: his wife Madelaine McKinney; his daughters, Jennifer McKinney Betts (Mark) and Kristina "Krissy" Showalter; his grandchildren, Ian Betts, Korrine Johnson and Nathaniel "Nate" Showalter; his stepchildren, Christopher Kurmay, James Kurmay and Katrina McKinney; and his sisters, June Copeck (Charles) and Phoebe Wisnyai (Gary). He is also survived by 10 step-grandchildren; 6 step-great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the family to aid with expenses.
