He is survived by: his wife Martha Coates (Poynter); his siblings, Lillie Wright, Ronnie Coates (Deborah), Ronnie Brown, Carolyn Brown, Tammy Brown and Jeffery Brown (Michelle); and his grandchildren, J. R. Basil and Javen Basil. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members, and numerous friends.
