He is survived by: his wife Rita Poynter of Edmonton; his brother Ronnie Poynter (Angie) of Glasgow; his siblings-in-law, Carolyn Poynter of Edmonton, Brenda Poynter of Edmonton and Merrill Atwell (Sue) of Sulphur Well; his nephew Cole Poynter (Amber); his great-niece Brooklyn Poynter of Edmonton; and his close friend Bobby Ervin.
