He was predeceased by: his parents, John Obergfel and Nettie Hofer Obergfel. He is survived by: his wife Carol Ann "Howe" Obergfel; his daughter Jennifer Jo Obergfel; and his sister Dorothy Jean Rosenboom of Buckley, Illinois..
