She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Metz and Bernetta Metz; her sisters, Marilyn Menne and Judy Zimmer; and her brothers-in-law, Clem Menne, Hal Eckard and Jim Popham.

She is survived by: her husband Gerald "Gerry" Benzinger; her children, Kara Heck (Dan), Chris Benzinger (Michelle) of Pensacola, FL, Gretchen Traylor (Shawn), Lisa Benzinger, Molly Murphy (Kes) and Andrew Benzinger (Kelsey); and her siblings, Peggy Eckard, Phyllis Popham and Bob Metz (Doris).
