He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Robert and Dawn Bender; and his great-grandparents, Tilford, Pauline Grimes, Floyd and Ruby Harper.

He is survived by: his parents, David Grimes and Madeline Bender Grimes; his sons, Brooks Lee Cossitt and Abel William Grimes of Vine Grove; his sister Rachel Dawn Marie Grimes of Eastview, Paternal; and his grandparents, Randall and Carolyn Grimes of Eastview.
