He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence "Claris" Tackett and Annie Brown Tackett; and his siblings, Ed Tackett, Sam Tackett, Jim Tackett, Henry Tackett, Evelyn Marie Morgan, Clara Mae Kirby and Mollie Jane Tackett.

He is survived by: his sister Malta Arms.
