He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Gaines and Viola Holt Gaines. He is survived by: his wife Shirley Ann Smith Gaines; his children, Scott Gaines (Amy) of London, Robyn Harkins (Shawn) of Louisville and Denean Johnson of London; and his sister Pat Lewis (Benny) of London.
