He was predeceased by: his father Dudley Johnston; and his siblings, Nadine Johnston, Melba Jo Mashburn, Edward Johnston and Glenn Johnston.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Johnston of Richland, KY; his children, Slenda Noffsinger (Alan) of Vandetta, KY and Michael Johnston (Jill) of Dalton, KY; his sister Ola Mae Peyton (Reed) of Dalton, KY; his grandchildren, Lauren Lutz, Andrew Johnston and Aaron Johnston; and his great grandchildren, Auralynn Lutz and Hattie Rose Lutz. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
