He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Atwood and Retha Sweeden Atwood; his wife Barbara Wiles Atwood; his children, Michael Atwood and Karen Chapman; and his siblings, Earl, Dee, Marvin Atwood, Dorothy Allen, Helen Clark and Phyllis Black.
He is survived by: his son Dean Atwood (Phebe) of Mooresville, IN; his siblings, Don Atwood (Brenda) of Liberty, Hazel Sroczynski of Liberty and Ruby Cox (Mack) of Elkhorn; his caregiver Rita Poff; and his cousin Phyllis Williams. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren.
