He was predeceased by: his parents, James Edward and Era Nell Davidson Kirby; and his siblings, Brenda Jones, James "Mitchell" and Greg Kirby.

He is survived by: his daughters, Sandra Richn (Kevin) of Bowling Green, KY and Rhonda Scott of Bowling Green, KY; and his siblings, Annetta Cole of Monroe, Virginia Enlow (C. M.) of Boston, KY, Elizabeth Reynolds (Charlie) of Hillsboro, Donna Russell (Steve) of Pauline, SC, Roger Kirby (Patsy) of Quality, KY and Bobby Kirby (Annette) of Quality, KY. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
