She was predeceased by: her parents, William Garteen DeArmond and Susie Fleming DeArmond; her spouse J. I. Whitaker; and her siblings, Billy DeArmond, Darrell DeArmond and Hazel Myers.
She is survived by: her son Terry Whitaker; and her sister Velma Sue Jenkins of Lewisburg, KY. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews; several cousins.
