He was predeceased by: his parents, James Barrett and Maggie Graige Padgett Caldwell; and his siblings, James William, Joe Craige Caldwell and Anna Alice Caldwell.

He is survived by: his sister Wilma Brewer (Keith) of Dry Ridge; and his nieces and nephews, James Lee, Randy Lee Caldwell, Kimberly Ann Caldwell and Tina Renee Sargent. He is also survived by 14 Great nieces and nephews; and 39 great great nieces and nephews.
