David Oakes Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of David Oakes of Dry Ridge, Kentucky, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 14, 2025 at the age of 75. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though David may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those David touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence "Cotton" Oakes and Margaret Smitty Oakes; his wife Karen Sue Curtis; his siblings, Ricky Lynn Oakes and Shirley Arnold; and his grandson Mason Smith.
He is survived by: his children, Clarence David Oakes, Jr. (Tammy) of Union, KY, Shane Foster Milner (Amanda) of Union, KY, Gina Renee Hazelbaker (Ronald) of Dry Ridge, KY and Heidi Michelle Smith (Herb) of Walton, KY; and his siblings, Terry "John" Oakes (Ronda) of Richmond, VA and Lucille McIntyre (late Donnie) of Walton, KY.. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 19th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home (132 S Main St, Crittenden, KY 41030). A burial will be held on Saturday, April 19th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the New Bethel Cemetery.
