He was predeceased by: his mother Cora Mosley Miles Collins; his wife Mary Ruth Ellen Canterbury; and his grandson Edward. He is survived by: his children, Martha Batten of Minnie, David Collins (Libby) of Minnie, Charles Collins (Paula) of Somerset, Jody Collins (Jane) of Owensboro, Roger Collins (late Laura) of Minnie, Judy McDonald (Clay) of Pippa Passes, Jan Neal of Berea and Barbara Masters (William) of Berea; and his grandchildren, Lisa Collins, Jason B. Collins, Jennifer Hagan, Paul Collins, Heather Stout, James Hiatt, Amanda Collins, Jason Collins, Nathan, Addison Masters, Roger Collins and Paul Studer. He is also survived by great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the First Baptist Church of McDowell.
