He is survived by: his wife Rachel Sue Cook Palmer; and his children, James "Chip" Palmer of Providence, KY, Timothy Paul Palmer (Barbara) of Wartrace, TN, John David Palmer (Lori) of Bassett, VA, Mary Elizabeth Asbell (Michael) of Nashville, TN and Martha Melea Hobgood (Greg) of Dixon, KY. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 1 niece and 1 nephew.
