He was predeceased by: his parents, John Coleman and Florence Coleman; his foster parents, Claude Nelson and Emmy Nelson; and his siblings, Isabell Oliver, Ruby Coleman, Orville Coleman, R. B. Coleman and Robert Coleman.
He is survived by: his wife Virginia Burkeen Coleman of Dexter; and his children, Cindy Steen (Jeff) of Almo, Paula Sanders of Mayfield, Jennifer Carrico of Murray, Beth Henderson of Georgia and Johnny Coleman (Susan) of Dexter, Kentucky. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
