He was predeceased by: his parents, John Sergent and Ersell Bates Sergent; his son Randall (Shelby Sergent); his siblings, Phyllis Hughett, Margie Kiser, Estil, Charles Wayne and Steven Sergent; and his grandson Randy Nathaniel Sergent.

He is survived by: his daughter Dianna Lynn Holbrook (Dwight); his sister Linda Cook (Bill); his grandchildren, Kamista Hall (Jeremy), Eric Holbrook (Brooke) and Mathew Sergent; his great grandchildren, Chrissy Razor (Elijah), Emma Hall, Abbey Hall, Tyson Hall, Gunner Holbrook, Kelsi Holbrook and Baylee Holbrook; and his great great grandchild Oakley Razor.
