We are sad to announce that on September 13, 2023, at the age of 82, Rita Jewell Chasteen of Dayhoit, Kentucky passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Bill Jewell and Mabel Friley Jewell; her husband Oscar Chasteen; her brothers, Herb, Mike, Rick and Lynvell; and her parents-in-law, John and Mallie Chasteen.
She is survived by: her children, Debbie Hensley (Don) and Oscar Chasteen, Jr. (Nettie); her grandchildren, Chad Chasteen (Leann), Shelley Engle, Dylan Chasteen (Gabrielle) and Donovan Hensley (Elizabeth); her great grandchildren, Trenton, Braylee Engle, Amelia and Abigail Chasteen; and her siblings, Wilma Kelly, Nola Maggard (Eugene), Condell Jewell (Robin) and Ken Jewell (Jet). She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, extended relatives, and a host of dear friends.
