He was predeceased by: his former wife Linda Hanks Newsom; and his father Frederick Algernon "F. A.". He is survived by: his wife Judy Newsom; his sons, Vince Newsom of Caldwell County and Casey Newsom (Kelley) of Caldwell County; his stepchildren, Vickie Cotton of Caldwell County, Bobby Dean Cotton (Tracey) of Mayfield and Rob (Leslie); and his grandsons, Travis Newsom and Hunter Newsom.
