He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Vernon and Dixie Eli (Ashmore); his siblings, James Eli, Estella Littlepage and Mary Frances Miller; and his siblings-in-law, Charles Whitfield, Jay Littlepage, Bill Miller and Sandra Eli.
He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Ann Eli (Cavanaugh); his daughters, Angela Winkler (Scott) of Murray and Julia Ray (James) of Meridianville, AL; his grandchildren, Ashley Renison (Andrew), Amy Teats (Christopher), Eric Winkler (Jenson), Cole Peyton (Sydney) and Anna Peyton; his great grandchildren, Eleanor, Gwendolyn and Katherine Peyton; his siblings, Joseph Eli, Katherine Whitfield, Georgia Miller, Sue Posvic (David) and Charlotte Ward (Raymond); and his siblings-in-law, Rodney Miller and Faye Eli. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
