He is survived by: his wife Penny Hays Simons of Dawson Springs, KY; his sons, Greg Simons (Shanon) of Nashville, TN, Will Simons of Dawson Springs, KY and Aaron Hays (Danielle) of Dawson Springs, KY; his sisters, Jane Strait (Stephen) of Dawson Springs, KY and Melissa Fain (Danny) of Earlington, KY; his father James Simons (Anna) of Dawson Springs, KY; his grandchildren, Kaire Elizabeth Hays and Gabriel Aaron Hays; his son Gabriel Scott Simons; and his sister Elin Simons.
