She was predeceased by: her parents, Virgil Lanham, and Irene Crain Lanham, Sr.; her husband Samuel H. May Jr.; her daughter Jana Irene May Haskins; and her brother James Taylor Lanham.

She is survived by: her sons, Randall Scott May and Jeffrey Taylor May (Eveline); her brother Virgil Lanham Jr.; her grandchildren, Brian Walker Brown, Amy Brown Whitley, Erin Johnson May Roth (Marc) and Barret Lanham May (Dawn Chestnut); her great grandchildren, Brian Walker Brown II (Mindi), Tanner Ryan Brown, Madison Hope Brown, Karson Hope Whitley, Kamryn Elizabeth Whitley, Maxwell Christian Roth, Ryan Barret Roth, Marilyn Dawn Chestnut-May and Moses Johnson Chestnut-May; and her great great grandchildren, Bryson Michael Walker Brown and Liliana Marie Brown.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Trinity Episcopal Church and the Boyle County Public Library.
