He was predeceased by: his parents, James Walter Hensley and Zula Faye Harmon Hensley; and his niece Claire Amos. He is survived by: his children, Jaye Harmon Hensley Powell (Brent) of Winston Salem, NC, John Thomas Hensley (Lauren) of Mobile, AL and Joshua Eason Hensley of Danville; his grandchildren, Mills, Charlie, Walter Hensley, Sutton and Jack Powell; and his nieces and nephews, Allen Amos (Mary), Tripp Amos (Gabby), Catherine Cribbs (Beau), Melinda Hill, Dr. Hilary Anderson (Chris), Thomas Hill and Adley Mae Anderson.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the First Christian Church of Danville, KY or CASA of the Bluegrass.
