With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ray Goode of Danville, Kentucky, who passed away on December 20, 2024 at the age of 81. He was predeceased by: his parents, Bryan Goode and Annie Long Goode; and his siblings, J. V. Goode, Cloyd Goode, Perry Goode, Donald Goode, Ann Eula Burus and Lucille Goode.

He is survived by: his wife Myrtle Coffman Goode; his children, Shelia Daugherty (Junior) of Alum Springs, Anthony Goode (Sherry) of Lancaster and Donald Goode (Beverly Wells) of Junction City; his sisters, Beulah Smith of London, Linda Wren of Danville and Lula Raley of Mitchellsburg; and his grandchildren, Ashley Gibbs (Wyatt) of Danville, Kayla Floyd (Cassius) of Harrodsburg, Emily Daugherty of Alum Springs and Ian Goode of Junction City. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Viewing was held on Thursday, December 26th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Gethsemane Baptist Church (123 Quisenberry Ave, Danville, KY 40422). A funeral service was held on Friday, December 27th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.

“My heart breaks to lose Ray. He was an excellent friend to my father, our family, the community & an all around good person. He will be sorely missed. My father always looked forward Ray's call & the great conversations. I enjoyed answering his call when my dad wasn't available. He was as kind & caring a man as you could ever hope to meet. We know in our hearts Ray is on high waiting to fill us all in on the details when we get there. We lost a good one when Ray was called home.”
