He was predeceased by: his parents, Carlton F. White, Jr. and Alpha Ann Shelley White; and his brother Robert White. He is survived by: his wife Rachel Ryan; and his daughters, Stephanie R. Simmons (Doug Simmons) of Carlisle, PA and Cassandra C. White of Lexington. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

“Rose and I are shocked and saddened by Paul’s unexpected death. We loved and admired his intellect, kindness and willingness to help friends, family, neighbors and even total strangers. He was always generous with his time and knowledge. I will especially miss his excellent sense of humor and the long discussions that we shared over the decades going back to the 1960s.”
