She was predeceased by: her parents, Sidney Bernard and Pearl Strunk Smith; her husband James Gordon; her son Johnny McGuire; and her siblings, James Carroll Smith, Sidney Bernard Smith, Julia Pauline Waugh, Helen Margaret Teaford, Anna Ruth Woodruff and Charlotte Pearl Smith.
She is survived by: her son James William McGuire of Berea; her siblings, Roger 'Roddy Talbot Smith (Francine) of Hilton Head and Norma Jean Buchanan of Danville; her grandchildren, Jessica Kendrick (Brian), James McGuire (Amy) and David Shawn McGuire (Casie); and her great grandchildren, McKayla, Olivia, Kyler, Allie, Ellee, Michael, Grady, James Brayden, Hutson, Shelby, Tucker, Gunner, Ryker, Roddy Smith, Gus Faeth and Charlotte Faeth.
