He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Proffitt and Pauline Proffitt. He is survived by: his wife Betty Montgomery Proffitt; his daughters, Lori Burke (Jeremy) of Danville and Lesli Nordstrom (Fredrik) of Ridgefield, Connecticut; his grandchildren, Riley Thomas Burke, Maggie Elizabeth Burke, Stella Jane Nordstrom and Axel Daniel Nordstrom; his siblings, Tommy Proffitt of Richmond, Eve Proffitt (Bill Kirkland) of Georgetown, Paul Proffitt (Melissa) of Lexington, Janie Rosanbalm (Randy) of Richmond and Timmy Proffitt (Linda) of Stanford; and his siblings-in-law, Carl Montgomery (Susie) of Stanford, Bernard Montgomery (Carolyn) of Danville, Jean Cummins of Danville and Sue Anderson (Dudley) of Danville. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions are preferred to Operation Christmas Child c/o Calvary Baptist Church and Gideon's International.
