Evelyn Layer-Stokes Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Evelyn Layer-Stokes of Danville, Kentucky, who passed away on June 21, 2024, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Forest Brown and Mary Passmore Brown; and her siblings, Zilpha Brown Singleton, Pauline Brown Hale, Dewey Brown, Hubert Brown, Lewis Brown and Jerry Dean Brown.
She is survived by: her children, Sandra Young-Owens (Gary) and Anthony (Renee); her granddaughter Kaitlyn Renee Layer; her sisters, Virginia Hale and Jeanie Young; her stepdaughter Debie Burton (Charles); her stepgrandchildren, Chad Burton, Taylor Foster, Lucas Simpson, Hagan Simpson and Taryn Owens Kruer; and her stepgreat-grandchildren, Abigail, Eleanor, Grant, Laney, Colin and Taylor. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association.
