He was predeceased by: his wife Louise Neff Turner; his parents, Hubert Turner and Rose Hampton Turner; his son Barry Dean Turner; his brother Charles Terry Turner; and his daughter-in-law Kim Day.
He is survived by: his sons, Jeff "Koogle", James Q. Turner and Douglas A. Turner; his stepchildren, Charles "Buck" Fowler, Charlene Fowler Jones (Lester) and Bridget Jones; and his siblings, Harold Ray, Ricky Lee Turner, Jan Turner Mullannix and Ann Turner Hayden. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
