He was predeceased by: his grandparents, James Theodore Ison (Ted) and Della Mae Schoonover Ison; his mother Carolyn Ison Faulkner; and his brother Carl Wayne Ison. He is survived by: his wife Melissa McKnight Ison (Lisa); his son Samuel Brent Ison; his sister Angela Dawn Metcalfe Brock (Scott); his aunt Dolorse Shelton; his cousins, David, Sharon Kennedy, J. J. Eldridge, Misty Kennedy, Tracy Gullett, Matthew Shelton (Shoni) and Marsha Hamby (Bill); his siblings-in-law, Tim McKnight (Melissa) and Kim Rogers (Billy); his nephews, Christopher Metcalfe (Starr), Derrick Hatfield (Taylor), Cody Wayne Ison, Brandon McKnight (Candace), Aaron McKnight (Shanna), Dalton McKnight (Adrian), Creed (C. J.), Collett (Courtney) and Colbie Clay; his niece Brittany Lewis (Josh); and his close friends, Clinton McComb (Stephanie), Addison and Olivia Grace.
In light of the current outbreak of Covid, the family requests that ALL who attend services for Sam wear a facemask.
