He was predeceased by: his parents, Vearl Simpson and Eva Simpson; and his siblings, Verl Jr., Jim, Joe, Johnny, Marcella Choban and Mildred Avalos.
He is survived by: his pets, Gatlinburg, George Jones, Snickers, Little and Crackerjacks; his wife Freda Cox Simpson; his children, Kelly Simpson (Amy) and Sarah Pietrowski (Paul); his grandchildren, Dustin, Sydney and Logan Simpson; his sister-in-law Brenda Greer (Kerry); his pets, Jack and Ginger; and also, Lucy Shelton, George Cox, Sharon, Marvin Miller and Betsy Pietrowski. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Due to an abundance of caution, because of Covid 19, there will be no public visitation.
He always remembered how the Salvation Army took care of him and his buddies in the Army so that became his charity of choice.
