She was predeceased by: her parents, Elisha Helton and Willie Mae Farmer Helton; her husband Gerald Bruce Smith; her son Gerald Smith; and her sister Corrine Taylor.
She is survived by: her children, Nancy Shepherd (Lonnie) of Cumberland, KY, David Smith (Robin) of Lawtey, FL and Melissa Lowe (Lonnie) of Harlan, KY; her daughter-in-law Rita Smith of Whitesburg, KY; her sisters, Joann Livingston of Berea, KY and Bobbie Sue Owens of Corbin, KY; and her sister-in-law Mary Day of Cumberland, KY. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren.
