He was predeceased by: his parents, Quincy Hackworth and Hazel Hackworth; and his brother John Hackworth. He is survived by: his children, Amanda Smith (Frank) of Lexington, KY and James Hackworth, II of New Tazewell, TN; his brothers, Tom (Carolyn) of Ojai, Jerry Hackworth of Cumberland and Jeff (Melissa) of Lexington, KY.; his granddaughters, Laura Pace, Meredith Smith and Mallory Smith of Lexington, KY.; his uncle Adrian Sparks; his aunt Mavis Sparks of Lexington, KY; and his great-nephews, Ben Hackworth of John and Justin Hackworth.
