He was predeceased by: his wife Barbara Hawkins Simpson; his parents, William "Slim" Simpson and Dora Simpson (Tuttle); and his sisters, Sybil Swansey and Lois Verville.
He is survived by: his brother William Simpson, Jr. of Michigan; his daughters, Teresa Simpson, Amy Bright (Drex Cunningham) and Barbara Edwards (Phil); his grandchildren, Jessica Stehley (Norman Griest), Becky Mynhier (Chris), Bobby Bright (Kirstin Hoover), Matthew Stehley, Melody Bright, Sydney Stehley and Sydney Edwards; and his great grandchildren, Michael Mynhier, Quinn Griest, Kayden Mynhier, Calen Griest, Riley Mynhier, Peyton Croasmun, Olivia Mynhier and Bobby Bright.
