He is survived by: his wife Carol Fisher Whitson of Crofton; his children, Daniel Whitson (Elsa) of Hopkinsville, KY, Dawn Pope (Dwain) of Gold Hill, OR, Darrol Whitson (Crissi) of Cadiz, KY, Dixie McGee (Chris) of Brandenburg, KY and Dana Hidalgo (Robby) of Crofton, KY; his brother Cecil Whitson of Kentucky; and his grandchildren, Nathan, Nicholas Whitson, Jordan, Joshua Pope, Sean Whitson, Mikayla, Elizabeth, Jack, Grey McGee and Jaidyn Uchiyama.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in his memory to Haleys Mill Cemetery at 209 Donna Drive Hopkinsville, KY 42240.
