He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Milton Smith and Cora Short Smith; and his brother Joe Smith. He is survived by: his children, Kimberly Epperson (Tim) of Williamstown, KY. and Corey Smith (Mallory) of Burlington, KY.; his stepchildren, Rami Ballinger (Kyle) and Ben Gavin (Kathleen); his sisters, Virginia "Sissy" Fields (Wayne) of Arizona and Vikki Shelton (Jeff) of Crittenden, KY.; and his grandchildren, Brittany Feck (Kaleb), Adam Epperson (Ashton), Heidi Smith, Claire Smith, Emma Ballinger and Maren Gavin.
