He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Yelton Claypool (Georgia) and Dorothy Evelyn Baker Thornsbury; his wife Margaret Elizabeth "Peggy" Lea; his son Robert Keith Claypool; and his half-brother Alan Claypool.
He is survived by: his children, Tony Claypool (Valerie) of Sharonville, OH, Dreama Kaye Claypool of Florence, KY and Gayla Joyce (Debbie); his half-brothers, Jimmy Thornsbury of Augusta, KY, Mike Claypool of Lawrenceburg, IN and Greg Claypool of Price Hill, OH; his stepbrother Ronnie Poe of Lawrenceville, IN.; and his grandchildren, Justin Yelton, Chelsea Yelton, Kristopher Claypool, Abigail Claypool, Jonathan Burkhart and Tyann Rider. He is also survived by children and their children's children.
