He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Rayon and Gladys Rachel Mobley Nichols; and his siblings, Johnny Nichols, Catherine Lee Nichols and Crystal Gail Nichols.
He is survived by: his son John William "Little Bill" Nichols (Sara Bailey) of Crestwood; his sisters, Gail Philpot (Danny) of Munfordville and Jane Roby (Kent) of Mt. Washington; and his grandchildren, Tyler Bailey, John William Nichols, Jr. and Thomas Edward Nichols.
