He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Sr. Yates and Ruth Hardin Yates; and his sister Sharon Fletcher. He is survived by: his wife Mary Yates; his children, Gordon Yates (Jennifer) and Toni Millet (Tony); his grandchildren, Kristin Hudson, Katie Holt, Dorian Yates, Dawson Mathis, Tristin Millet and Tatum Millet; and his brothers, Sam T Yates Jr. (Mary Lou), Mike Yates, Matthew Yates (Pam) and Harold Yates.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 6th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home (706 W Jefferson St, La Grange, KY 40031). A prayer was held on Thursday, February 6th 2025 at 7:00 PM. A funeral Mass was held on Friday, February 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Aloysius Catholic Church. A burial was held on Friday, February 7th 2025 at the Louisville Memorial Gardens East (11601 Ballardsville Rd, Louisville, KY 40241).
