Bonnie Jean Silva Obituary
Bonnie Jean Covington Silva, of Crescent Springs, KY, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, November 28, 2024. Bonnie was born in Memphis, TN, and is survived by her husband George, sister Sue Earnheart, daughter Whitney O'Neal, granddaughter Carol Ann Burdge, sisters-in-law Joan Davis and Susan Roberts, and stepdaughter Cassandra and her husband Michael Bevis. Bonnie lived in Menphis, TN, Miami, Jupiter, and Tequesta, FL before moving to Northern KY in 2002. In KY, she immediately felt at home and established an incredible group of friends.
After many devoted years to government service, Bonnie retired from the Department of Justice, U.S. Attorney Office in Cincinnati, OH. In retirement, Bonnie worked part-time at the Northern KY Chamber of Commerce and volunteered at the Kenton County library reading to kids in the "Reading Buddies" program. Bonnie loved life and lived it to the fullest. She never met a stranger and was loved by every life she touched. Her Southern charm and smile was contagious. She loved spending time with her family, many girlfriends, traveling, cooking, aqua aerobatics, Pilates, shopping, and her beloved Dalmatians. Bonnie will be missed by everyone she touched.
Bonnie's family would like to thank the nurses, aides, and therapist at St. Elizabeth Home Health Care and St. Elizabeth Hospice for their incredible professionalism, caring, compassion, and respect shown to Bonnie.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Bonnie's name may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital in Menphis, TN, and the American Stroke Association.
Visitation will be at Mother of God Church, 119 W. 6th Street, Covington, KY 41011, on December 7, 2024, commencing at 10:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 12:05 p.m. Light refreshments to follow the Mass in the Church undercroft to celebrate Bonnie's life.
