He was predeceased by: his parents, Lucy Denson (Dowell) and Chester Ruth; his son Dale Ruth; and his siblings, Anna Ridgedale, Willie Ruth, Clarence Ruth, Charles "Joe" Denson, Jr., Mark Denson, Jimmy Denson, Freddie "Poncho" Denson and Gladys Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Lou Ruth (Hendrickson) of Crab Orchard; his son Rusty Ruth; and his grandchildren, Taylor Ruth (Zack Paterson), Sydney (Daniel Caldwell), Skylar, Caleb, Raydale, Blayne and Alyssa Ruth.
