She was predeceased by: her parents, Grover Dowell and Hattie Marie Nall Dowell; and her son Richard Shields (Debbie). She is survived by: her children, Susan Shields of Cox's Creek, Alan Shields of Utica, KY., Tom Shields (Debbie) of Camdenton, Paul Shields (Karen) of Indianapolis, Marty Shields (Julie) of Campbellsville and Joel Shields (Andrea) of Cox's Creek. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contribution to Cox's Creek Baptist Church or the donor's favorite charity.
