She was predeceased by: her parents, Augustus Coomes and Mamie Sallee Snellen Coomes; her husband Bliss Jones Shain; her siblings, Hazel Bowman, Dorothy Meyer, Preston Coomes and Elwood Coomes; and her daughter Betty Jean Shain.
She is survived by: her children, Carolyn Fay Shain of Louisville, Janet Lee Shain Raisor (Danny) of Bardstown, Patricia Ann Shain of Bardstown, Norman Ray Shain of Cox's Creek, David Keith Shain (Corrinne) of Cox's Creek and John Roger Shain of Cox's Creek; her sisters, Mildred Milligan of Cox's Creek, Barbara Weller (Austin) of Cox's Creek and Glenda Magruder of Cox's Creek; her grandchildren, Brian, Luke Raisor, Josh, Alex, Spencer, Ethan Shain, Aimee Raisor, Meghan Shain Miller, Lauren Shain Kurtz, Kimberly Shain Deats, Claire Shain, Lindsey Shain Gill and Natalie Shain; her great grandchildren, Blake, Grant Raisor, Joseph Schwartz, Sam, Ezra, Dominic Kurtz, Jonathan, Jacob Shain, Desmond Gallahan, Archie Shain, Alexis Raisor, Teagan Kurtz, Fiona Miller, Elizabeth Shain, Avery Perkins, Charlie Shain and Elle Deats; and her great great grandchild Alexander Layne Raisor.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 7th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, March 8th 2025 from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home and Cremation Services (1475 New Shepherdsville Rd, Bardstown, KY 40004). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 at the New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery (2775 Deatsville Rd, Coxs Creek, KY 40013).
