He was predeceased by: his parents, James Ransom and Pearl Bivin Ransom; and his brothers, James, Charles and Jerry Ransom.
He is survived by: his wife Rebecca Jane Greenwell Ransom; his children, William Lee Ransom of Florida, Carl Ray Ransom of Nebo, Michelle Wiggins (Rick) of Beech Grove and Rhonda Mattingly of Louisville; his grandchildren, Ricky Eade Jr. of Texas, Brandon Sylvester of Alabama, Amanda Fackler (Phillip), Ray J. Ransom Jr., Evan Mattingly (Alexys), Olivia Rebecca Mattingly and Ethan Mattingly; his great grandchild Matthew Fackler; his sister Shelby Husk; and his sister-in-law Nell Ransom. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
