He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Proffitt and Valinche Proffitt (Tinch); and his siblings, Raymond Proffitt and Lois Jean Proffitt. He is survived by: his siblings, Patricia Proffitt, Beverly Proffitt, Katherine Proffitt and Tad Proffitt.
