He was predeceased by: his in-laws, Thelma and Walter Sebastian; and his grandson Greg "Bubba" Biffle. He is survived by: his wife Imogene Smith; his children, Thelma Jeanette Houk (Scot) and Billy "Sonny" Walter Smith; and his granddaughters, Amanda, Amber, Heather, Jennifer, Emily and Olivia. He is also survived by 24 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Bill's name may be made to St. Elizabeth Hospice Care, 1 Medical Village Drive, Edgewood, KY 41017.
